Dr. Shana Vohra is passionate about orthodontics because it gives her the ability to transform smiles and change lives. She has wanted to be an orthodontist ever since she was in her teens and experienced, firsthand, the impact that treatment can have on increasing confidence and self-esteem.
Dr. Vohra grew up in northern California and completed all her schooling in the area as well. She attended an accelerated pre-dental program at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA to earn her undergraduate degree. She then attended the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, where she met her husband, Dr. Arora. Dr. Vohra undertook an additional 27-month residency program, also at the University of the Pacific, to obtain her Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science in Dentistry degree.
After completing her training, Dr. Vohra decided to prove her commitment to the profession and lifelong learning, by undergoing the voluntary process to become a board-certified orthodontist. This involved the successful completion of a written examination, submission of orthodontic cases, and an oral examination.
In her free time, Dr. Vohra loves spending time with her family and puppy, Booker. She enjoys playing sports and spending time outdoors. On the weekends, she loves going out to dinner with friends or just curling up on the couch with a good book or movie. Craft projects and traveling are some of her other favorite hobbies.
